With Mix Megapol in Madeira day 1

Early start. 7.15 at Landveter Airport quick breakfast with The Voice, Pinky and Perky and then 4 hours 40 minutes on a plane with no leg room and very little air conditioning. Interesting landing area in Madeira its just one straight long runway parallel to the ocean the captain did his job well and for that he got the Swedish round of applause.

Quickly through customs and then onto the bus taking us to Funchal City and our hotel. Great scenery, very green and lots of exotic flowers that our bus guide named without me registering them. I thought Madeira was flat. I was wrong the highest point is 1861 m above sea level (some things do register) and the Golf Course we are playing tomorrow is over half way up.

24 degrees and a lovely afternoon walk. A quick stop for an ice cold Super Bock (great name for a beer) and now resting up. Meeting all the First Open Golf finalists at 19.00 when we will go through the weeks agenda!

I will be presenting a few of the final pairings during the week and following them on the course.

Zlatans time out is great news for Hamrén he can now name a new captain and hope he leads by example.
