Promotion pilgrimage!

Two tiring days at the Promotion Expo at Elmia in Jönköping. Thursday morning 6.45 Junior and myself set off on our twice yearly pilgrimage to the Promotion Branch´s Trade Fair. Started sunny in Kalmar and started raining just after Nybro (35 km). The legendary ”Green Mercedes” has been with me for 8 years now and has nearly always had a few mechanical/electrical faults. On this occasion the windscreen wipers didn´t work.  Not good in the rain! After a few more stops than planned we arrived at Elmia 9.30. ”Snäckan” 5 mins later and ”Noodles” 25 mins after that.

We have many traditions that are custom during our two day visit. We always work the hall left to right have no meetings booked and dont take our first beer untill 16.00. Junior found that last custom difficult to handle. We were very effective and even recieved a quick product presentation at 17.45. 18.30 and we took the taxi to Clarion Hotel. Suite for ”Snäckan and myself Jr and Noodles had a ”spacious” double room. A quick meal and a beer then we headed for the Sauna were we analysed the first day in great detail. 23.00 and a quick walk to Karlssons ”night club”. The usual suspects were in place Fruit Daniel, Tjocke Jocke, Berka and ”Etikett” Jonas all at the bar with credit card in hand. After a few Vodka ”Daims” i was on the dance floor. I am not sure what moves i produced but my knee has suffered an injury and i might need a couple of days to recover. Noodles and myself finished the evening at Scandic eating a sandwich in reception at 3.15. Not sure why!

Day two started with an egg and bacon breakfast before we headed off to the Trade Fair. We weren´t quite as effective today but when the Fair ended at 15.00 we had managed to visit all of our most important suppliers and hopefully now have our ”sales” strategy for the autumn all worked out.

Moment of the trip. Must have been ”Snäckans” brilliant one hand low down save of the wine bottle i knocked off the table.

Dance of the trip. Snäckan once again and his impromtue River Dance routine at the Nimbus stand.

Comment of the trip. The game between AIK and Levski Sofia ended in a goalless draw. 0-0 i think! Anonymous.

Lord of the Rings tonight. Not sure if i will stay awake to see it all though.
