I am not the biggest fan of the English FA but i have to say their decision to give Roy Hodgson the England managers job makes a lot of sense. He is probably the most merited British trainer in world football if you add up both experience at club and country level. The two other British names in the frame Harry Redknapp and Stuart Pearce have little if no experience of International football and have won nothing worth mentioning (with one exception Harry´s FA Cup victory for Pompey in 2008) in their managerial careers. I was in London at the weekend when it was announced that Roy was the boy for the job. A good choice was my immediate reaction but i wondered how the English fooballing world would take the news! They once again showed their ignorance and the only fact that was relevant in their eyes was that Liverpool sacked him because the job was to big for him. His successor King Kenny is doing a great job!
Harry was the ”peoples choice”. The last ”peoples choice” was Kevin Keegan. That went well. I am not expecting Roy to work wonders as the basic ingredients (English players available) are not upto scratch but he does know how to organise a team get the best out of ordinary players and last but not least get results. He also knows a bit about Englands opponents in the Euros.
I was at White Hart Lane on sunday. Spurs beat Blackburn 2-0. Kyle Walkers goal was class. Sandro was the best player on the pitch and Blackburn´s signing from HBK the worst!
The walk from White Hart Lane to Seven Sisters Station is a long one.
Bolton – Spurs tonight. Muamba is expected to be in the crowd. My money´s on Bolton. casino partouche en ligne
