Golf needs more rebels!
Publicerad 2010-05-30 kl: 17:04. Kategori: ÖvrigtIts been a good weekend for Lansdowne.se. Lena from Germany won the Eurovision Song Contest. My old side Dagenham and Redbridge won the play offs and are now in Division 1 next season and England beat Japan 2-1. Both England goals were own goals!
Saturday night at home watching the Eurovision Song Contest is not something i would have considered in years gone by and admitting that i did watch it would never have occured. But after predicting Lena from Germany would win i felt i had to see what the other countries had to offer. Denmarks entry was ok a few others were bareable the rest embarrassingly poor. Even the voting was a farce with more ”pacts” than Robinson!
I watched the ”Elitloppet” on TV 4 this afternoon and though i am not a ”Trotting” fan i had to admire the passion and emotion showed by everyone at Solvalla.
I even managed a sunday morning run and have to say i felt in surprisingly good form. The ”Ängö” run 4km in a light breeze and sun is just what the doctor ordered.
Viasat Golf and the European Tour from Spain. Good solid golf but where have all the ”personalities” gone? No one laughs, talks to the crowd, throws a club, argues with a photographer or has a go at his caddie when he gets the club selection wrong. Just polite ”cap touching” when they tap in a putt for par. Nearly all the players are in good physical shape nowadays. I miss watching Monty, Daly, Craig Stadler and the old ”half fat” Lee Westwood. Once again too much money has changed the focus of the sport and it has become far to serious. Great for the players but less value for money for the fans.
”Hammers Gary” today became the first double winner of ”King of the Castle”. He is in England at the moment and watched Dagenham and Redbridge beat Rotherham at wembley this afternoon. Double celebration this evening!
