First Anna Anka then Paddy

Wolly Hat 2-17 last night and -9 at lunch time. I am not sure i remember the last time it was that cold here in Kalmar by the sea! Still however a lot of last minute xmas shoppers in town and everyone had their own car guessing by the amount of traffic. Lansdowne.se wolly hats have been very popular the last few days!

Mark Hughes sacked by Man City. It was just a matter of time. Mancini takes over today and will have very little time to improve things. He will however be a very wealthy man regardless of how it goes. It takes years to build a successful team not months. Benitez next?

Mike McCarthy´s Wolves beat Burnley 2-0. All of a sudden the 10 changes he made against Man Utd has become a shrewd piece of management. However he will need more than just shrewd management if Wolves are to avoid the drop.

Man Utd were crap, Liverpool even worse, Chelsea lucky to get a point and even Arsenal needed a penalty miss from their opponents Hull to take 3 points. The xmas period usually sorts out the boys from the men. I have a feeling this year might be a bit different. Aston Villa and Tottenham can definately get amongst them.

Newcastle are flying in the Championship. 10 points clear and unbeaten in 9 games. No new stars or big named managers. Just Chris Hughton my own mate from East London who was assistant at Spurs for years and even at Newcastle. They put him in charge on a caretaker basis whilst searching for a new manager. He got the players working as a unit, the fans backed him and voila he got the job. Good luck Chris! 42,000 fans is there average home gate this season. Amazing!!

Must watch Paddy´s uppesittarkväll tonight TV 4 Sport 21.30. Should be a classic. Luckily for Paddy its not on at 20.00 the same time as Anna Ankas jul!

DIF, AIK and Drogba

Now we know how next years Allsvenskan will look. Two newcomers were already there, Åtvidaberg and Mjällby, the question remaining was if Assyriska would join them. They had a 2 goal lead from the first game and i personally thought that would be enough. Once again i was wrong. All credit to Djurgården 3-0 after extra time. I am not sure what the biggest surprise was, keeping a clean sheet or scoring 3 goals. Congratulations however to Mattias Jonson who got the winner. He has had an injury filled season but delivered the goods when needed. The biggest question after they have finished celebrating todays result is what should they do next? Is Jeglertz the man to lead them into the new era? Will there be any money to buy there way out of the situation? What ever they decide i am sure that not too many of todays XI will be in the side next season.

AIK however will be hoping they do have the same side next season. Congratulations to them on doing the double. 2lax9 is your year. Why did they succeed? An inspirational trainer, reliable keeper, solid defence, well balanced midfield and 2 south americans up front and last but not least an arrogance and self belief that gave them the edge throughout the season.

Chelsea – Manchester United today. 65 minutes of very few chances with neither side really taking control. United looking comfortable for a point when the match changes character. Evans catches Drogba with his studs chest high. Drogba lies on the ground having some kind of spasm attack. A few tempers flare and the referee has to calm things down. 3 minutes later Drogba gets helped to his feet looking in agony and everyone is thinking there is no way he can continue. The referee walks upto him brandishes the yellow card (he was late in the challenge on Evans) and for a split second he is going to have a go at the ref when he remembers he is in great pain. Another grimace and he hobbles off. 1 min later he is back on the pitch. This incident got the crowd and Chelsea going and they pinched a 1-0 win.

More tomorrow!
