A Red and White saturday!

Not my usual Saturday routine. I had a lay in after my hectic trip to Gothenburg. Breakfast at 10 and no Saturday walk. 11.30 i was at ”Larmtorget” in the middle of town and involved in an early Election year meeting for the Swedish Social Democrats (Labour Party). Party Leader Mona Sahlin, local council chairman Johan Persson and ”Sosse Lasse” and Lansdowne.se (Great 4 ball). I of course was not there for political reasons. My role was to talk about Kalmar FF and give my thoughts about the coming season and todays game against Elfsborg. Lasse held a great questions and answers session with Mona S and Johan P and i must admit they were both in great form. Some quick witted one liners that drew both laughter and applause from the gathered ”Red and White” crowd.

Then lunch at Ernestos with some ”classic” characters from days gone by. The one thing we have in common is Kalmar FF and of course storys of the good old days were a plenty.

Kalmar FF – Elfsborg. In recent years the games at Fredriksskans have been very physical and Elfsborg have had a few players sent off. Todays game however was nothing like that of recent years and 6 yellow and 1 red card is a ridiculous total in a game were there wasn´t a malicious tackle made during the 90 + 3 mins. I am a fan of Martin Ingvarsson but today he got it wrong. The game itself was ruined by the playing surface but Sobralense and Jawo both showed that if you have skill you can play on anything. I have heard a lot of good things about Kalmars Finnish defender Arajuuri but not seen any of them. Tobias Eriksson is nowhere near last seasons standard. Ricardo Santos 3 goals in 3 games underlines what i said before the season started. He will score 15 goals if Kalmar get the ball to him in and around the box.
