The last game of the season and many playing for a new contract.
Arrived around 13.15 at a lovely little hotel called Björkhaga in Mullsjö after a 3 hour drive from Kalmar with Biggy Wiggy as company. A quick cuppa with the boys. Two new faces Anders Andersson and Krister Nordin.
Great weather, biggest crowd of the season by far and a hard bumpy playing surface. 70 mins later were we 7-5 winners. An Uninteresting game with only a few surprises. 1. Benny Mårtenssons long awaited first goal for TV Allstars. 2. Mårten Anderssons first goal ever!! 3. Benno Magnussons first goal since he reached the 90 kilos mark.
Back at the hotel with a great spa area! Two hours of stories about the good old days. Some were even true!! The usual banquet with the opposition and guests at 19.30 was enjoyable. Bennos one quick joke and presentation of Mårten Andersson was Bennoesque!!
15-20 mins of high class stand up comedy followed. Much the same as Mårtens perfomance in the game. Started safely a few easy passes then he got that all importent goal and things just got better and better!
A good night was had by one and all.
Man of the day Mårten Andersson.

Scramble this year, 3 players per team shoot gun start! 9.30. sunshine and my 2 partners looking in great shape. It started well with Björn chipping in at the first for a birdie but unfortunately it went down hill from there! however the weather performed admirally throughout the 18 holes and my 2 partners smiled for most of the round! Tournament organizers Martin Holm and Johan Flobecker had as always added their own special touch with a few seperate competitions during the round. ”Quickest hole” proving to be most difficult for my team. 12 mins to play the short 17th compared to the winning time of around 2min 40 secs.
Needless to say the prize ceremony didn´t actually require my teams presence. (or so i thought) The winning side was as i predicted on the first tee Patrick Warme´s team! I haven´t played in many tournaments that he hasn´t won. Closest to the flag was won by Billy Lansdowne JR (238cm). Good to know someone in the family has the winner mentality! Then came a special prize a ”bollhåv” to the person who hit the most balls into the water and the winner is Billy Lansdowne SR ??
I am not sure if i really deserved that award!!!
However another enjoyable round at the vastly improved Kalmar GK ”old course” . Now off to the office before a quick pint at the local!
Be good.

You fat bastard
Publicerad: 2009-09-16 kl: 18:27 Kategoriserad: Weight watchingA lazy stroll through the centre of Kalmar on a sunny saturday and within an hour i had recieved three comments that gave me food for thought regarding my physical status. First comment from an old friend (male). ” I see you´ve had a few beers this summer” Second comment ex girlfriend of a friend. ”I met PK last week (old team mate) and he looks like he´s the same weight as in his playing days” then a quick glance at my stomach. Third comment, old girlfriend ”I see YOU haven´t been training lately”
After these three brief meetings i decided to retreat homewards.
Sitting on my sofa i starting thinking that maybe, just maybe i had put on a few kilos. After all i haven´t really trained for 10 years now and my theory that a few rounds of golf was all the training i needed is maybe wearing thin. Was my diet of Pizza, Mc Donalds och Micro food no longer sustainable! I feel fine, do get a bit tired walking up the 2 flights to my flat but then again i do walk quickly. The XL t-shirts have been a bit tight of late but i am sure that washing them in 60 degrees has shrinked them a bit. I suppose i could always get the scales out of the cupboard buy a new battery for them and see how much i do actually weigh.
