Day 1

Arrived in Halmstad 30 mins late as you now have to take the scenic route via Emmaboda when travelling to the west coast.

Checked in with a smile on my face at a place i know well, Hotel Tylösand. Many great memories from the good old days! TEO golf is now in its 29th year and has a great tradition! Its my 4th appearence and as yet ”golf wise” not any great success.  Shot gun start at Ringenäs GK 12.00. Over 5 hours later and having been blown all over the place it was great to reach the club house. Once again i had the luck of the draw and Hasse, Magnus and Lars – Göran kept my spirits up. I really must learn to chip, putt and drive!

Great prize board as usual. Even if your team comes 15th of 17 you get rewarded. Some great limericks from Rolf Edling, and the tournament host Staffan Lindeborg in top form. As always well organised and some great one liners. Then onto a superb three course meal with Klasse Möllberg giving a lesson in the art of ”snapsing”. The entertainment continued with Hasse ”Kvinnaböske” Andersson in great voice. Then the draw for day 2 a late drink with room mate Glenn Östh and then a well needed sleep.

Day 2

Halmstad GK. No wind, few clouds and three hopeful new team mates. Tee time 10.08 captain Joakim Andersson  (Hcp 6) hits a great drive and it feels like this could be a winning day. Halmstad North Course is one of my favourites and as always in great condition. 10 bunker visits, 6 sliced drives, 5 topped wedges and a visit to the ditch at the 16th and i was a disillusioned man. Captain Andersson, Per and Bengt managed to keep smiling which is not easy when things are not going well. This 18 holes took a record 5 hours 15 mins.

After 90 mins in the Hotel Tylösand Spa i had together with Junior and Tony Gustavsson managed to work out who will win this years Allsvenskan. Another prize ceremony. 28th place in the individual competition. 7th of 17 in the day 2 team tournament meant that i once again had very little success in the TEO Golf event.

Evening 2 was as enjoyable as the first. TEO champion Niklas Henning had to sit in his winners jacket all throughout dinner.  The jacket was size small/medium Niklas is large/XL not a good equation.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable event. Special thanks to ”Släggan” . English footballs nr 1 fan. Staffan for the invite, Glenn for his company and all my fellow TEO collegues. Hopefully i´ll be back next year.

Ok i admit it. I have been in denial. Two weeks ago i received indication that i might, just might have put on a bit of weight. I got the scales out stepped gently on and looked down at the digital figures 102,6 kg!! No no no that can`t be right ! Denial. Last night 14 days later, a female acquaintance came upto me, smiled and said very politely fan va fet du har blivit. Your drunk i said, i know she slurred och du är fet!!

Thats it. Time for action. Whats my plan? Stop eating, Liposuction, training 5 days a week? Maybe all three. I need a few days consideration and then 90 kg here i come.

Last night was fun otherwise. A few of the ”usual suspects”, Biggy Wiggy, Hakan, Paddy, Silver o Junior and myself started the evening with an enjoyable meal and a few drinks at Ernesto´s. A quick look at Silvers promotional car and then on to Harrys. PK and Åke P were two welcome late arrivals. Good to see Kupe back behind the bar!

Only 6667 people were at a windy Fredriksskans to witness the top of the table clash between last seasons league champions Kalmar FF and 2008 cup winners IFK Göteborg.

Both sides have been weaked this season due to transfers and injuries and the 1st Half reflected that fact.
Kalmars more experienced side with the cleverly bullying Henke Rydström showing the way had control of events throughout the first 45 mins.
They were given a big helping hand however by Hjalmar Jonsson who managed to miss the ball completely with his attempted clearence allowing Abiola Dauda to give Kalmar the lead.

Good coaching by Olsson and Rehn at half time making a tactical change bringing on Tomas Olsson and moving Hannes Stiller up front. Olsson allowed Blåvitt to keep the ball for longer sequences and made Rydström and Ericsson work a lot harder centralt. However IFK never really created any clear chances and when they had Sebastian Eriksson sent off for filming (2nd yellow card) it looked all over. Then in the 76th minute a good cross from Theodor Bjarnason put  Hannes Stiller in for the equalizer.

Nanne had already substituted Dauda with Santos and that turned out to be the decisive factor with Santos heading in the winner in the 86th min.

Daniel Mendes was outstanding out wide on the left. Kalmar however have both Rydström and Nouri suspended next game and even Mendes could be doubtful after looking like he pulled a muscle late on.

All in all a fair result. AIK are probably smiling right now but there´s a long way to go yet.

Another friday another golf tournament. This time its The Samfrakt Golf Classic 2009.
Kalmar GK is the venue. Individual Stapleford (poängbogey). 17 degrees and a light breeze. That light breeze was quite often close to a hurricane when i was about to play.

Not a good day golf wise but pleasent company (Hans och Göran) in a relaxed atmosphere with Peter Karabyn doing a great job with the refreshments car. He was always on hand when needed and had put his son in charge of driving this year!

I didn´t have to leave my seat under the prize ceremony but enjoyed seeing Johan Beerman receiving a special award for an undistinquished round of golf!
My next tournament is the TEO Golf tournament at Halmstad GK next week.
Hopefully i have learnt how to chip by then.

I was almost certain that AIK would take home this years ”Allsvenskan”. Their defence has been rock solid and their confidence high. I guess neither myself or AIK thought that Henke was ready and waiting to open up the championship race. Elfsborg got back on track with a 1-0 home win and have the experience needed to keep their hopes alive. The remaining fixtures can turn the last few weeks into a nail biting scenario.

Even the relegation fight will be nerve-racking with 3 Stockholm sides fighting for survival.

Congratulations to Mjällby AIF and ”The Baker” back in the big time at 39!!

I am not sure what the biggest surprise was in the Sol Campbell – Notts County saga. The fact that he signed for them or that he left after just one game!

I remember watching that programme growing up in London. Eamon Andrews was the host and he had many great guests Muhammad Ali, George Best, Joan Collins, Shirley Bassey and loads more. What i enjoyed most was the look on the ”victims” face when they came up with a surprise guest who then told a great story about the subjects unknown past life.

 Great TV!!

Unfortunately it doesn´t and can´t work in the IT world that we live in today. You can Google nearly everything and few guests are unknown as he or she has already sold their story to one of the daily rags or featured in a docusoap!

It was better in the good old days!

Watched the Emmys on the box! Not many surprises. 30 Rock won a few awards and there were a number of good acceptance speeches. The highlight for me was when the best supporting actor in a comedy series was announced ”and the winner was” Jon Cryer who plays Alan in 2½ Men! Firstly i love the series! Everyone plays there role perfectly. The son Jake gets better every series, Berta the cleaner has some great one liners and Charlie lives the life that many men dream of. But its the long suffering loser Alan who is the main man!
While i am on the subject of actors i have to mention Didier Drogba. I sat and watched the Chelsea – Tottenham game on sunday evening and was as always amazed that his captain John Terry did´t give him a slap and a bollocking . His is 188 cm and weighs 88 kg he whacks his opponents all over the place and then he gets a little knock and plays dead! He was carried off towards the end of the game with what everyone assumed was a bad injury. The latest news is that he´s back on saturday!

Malmö – Elfsborg 5-0 and Svenska Hollywood fruar. I am not sure who i am most embarrassed for.
One of the swedish wives has got a face like a smacked arse and thinks gold with improve her looks. The second is so stupid if brains were dynamite she wouldn´t have enough to blow her head off and the third Anka is simply a very sad person.
The difference between Elfsborg and the 3 wives is that Elfsborg will probably not be that embarrassing the next time i watch them!!
